What is included in a social stay (shared rooms)?

A comfy spot in one of our bunks. Each bunk has blackout curtains, dimmable LED lighting and a power outlet. You also get an individual locker to store your luggage next to your bunk. Bedlinen and towels are included.

What is the age limit at Bunks at Rode?

The age limit is 18 and above for both shared dorm rooms and private rooms. Guests under 18 are not accepted.

Do you have female only dorms?

Yes, we have two female only dorms. Choose female only bunks when booking your stay to secure a spot. The rest of our dorms are mixed.

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is not included, but our common kitchen has a microwave so you can heat up simple meals or snacks. Our neighbors at KIWI are open 07:00–23:00 Monday–Saturday. Grünerløkka also has plenty of cafes and restaurants for a good breakfast.

You can easily check in and get your keycard at our self-check-in machines, or at the reception desk on the first floor. Our reception is open 24/7. Standard check-in starts at 15:00 (3:00 PM).

Can I check in earlier than 3pm?

Yes, early check-in is possible subject to availability. The early check-in fee is 200 NOK. Standard check-in is at 15:00 (3:00 PM).

Can I store my luggage before check-in?

Yes, if you arrive before your room is ready you can store your bags in our luggage room.

When is the reception open?

Our reception is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Check-out is by 11:00 AM. You can store your luggage in the luggage room after check-out if needed.

You can stay up to 7 days in a row in the dorms. After that you either have to book a private room or wait a month before booking another dorm stay. There is no maximum stay limit for private rooms.

Where is Bunks at Rode located?

We are located at Københavngata 10, Rodeløkka, Oslo. You can take tram 11, 12 or 18 from Oslo Central Station (Jernbanetorget).

Can I access the rooftop?

Yes! After check-in you are welcome to access the rooftop. Take the elevator to the 11th floor to enjoy panoramic views of Oslo. The rooftop is open 10:00–22:00 during summer and closed during winter.

Is Bunks at Rode a social hostel?

Yes! Our Social Club team does their best to welcome everyone, answer questions, give local tips and host weekly activities that all guests can join.

What to expect? DJ playing the good tunes that makes you wanna stay, a pop-up bar with all the refreshments you need throughout the day, and girls and boys in bunads, suits and dresses in the traditional 17th of May spirit!
